Read All ReviewsBought a car back in June of 2023. I absolutely love the car and the service was amazing back then, they even shipped my plates to my house once they came in. I recommended my parents to go there recently to find a car and everything just hit the fan. Unfortunately, the dealership was atrocious and I would NEVER recommend them to anybody. The first mistake is the dealership decided to charge my parents $$$ for a trade in of ours (that was fully paid off and verified that there were no payments left on the car), instead of putting the $$ from the trade towards the purchase of the car being purchased (like the dealership said they would). Then they proceeded to tell my parents that they would give them a friend and family discount because we have bought 2 cars from them previously in my family. To sum things up my parents were never given the discount on their copy of receipt and they were charged for the cost of our trade in. Lastly, when calling the dealership to speak to the finance dept. about the receipt he claims he "has a different one on file" and says "There is a price change for the trade in and for the friend/family discount" yet then he wont even send us the copy to show us the actual outcome of the price of the purchase. Absolutely disgusting behavior from that man. He comes up with the worst excuses to not be able to send us a finalized copy of the receipt. Lastly, when I decided to call the dealership for my parents to see if the plates came in and if there was an option to send them to the house the front desk receptionist was beyond rude to me and told me that "Sending the plates to your parents house is not an option." And then proceeded to be completely rude to me on the phone, accusing me and calling me a "liar" that when I purchased my car in 2023, they never sent the plates to my house and that "the dealership doesn't ship the plates to the home address." Which was weird to me because (as I stated above) the plates were sent to my house once they came in. I would never recommend this place to anyone anymore as it seems they have decided to take advantage of my family (specifically my parents). Which is truly a shame as I really enjoyed my experience however when I assumed this place would've provided the same service and great experience for loved ones of mine that option was clearly thrown in the trash. The managers name is Anthony Alberto he called once but never even bothered to help with the process of this mess and really did a poor job representing the company. Like, I said what a shame.
I purchased a vehicle from Toms River VW in Aug. 2024, including the Volkswagen Drive Easy Protection Plan. I cancelled the VSP on 10/24/2024, and received email and letter confirmations from VW Drive Easy Program administrator. VW Drive Easy sent confirmation to Toms River VW of refund in the amount of $2,094.78 - which was supposed to be sent to me. Toms River VW REFUSES to return the refund to me!!! The manager, Huey Cengiz, Controller, Finance Manager and office staff have all been informed by VW and myself, but they refuse to return calls or emails. VW Toms River is holding my VW Drive Easy Protection Plan refund and refuses to pay me and refuses to address the issue. Additionally when i was waiting for prep and pickup Mr. Cengiz convinced me to finance the vehicle, I planed to pay in full, so the dealership can receiver payment from Valley National Bank. Mr. Cengiz assured me that I could pay the vehicle off with no harm to me and Toms River VW could receive more funds. I reluctantly agreed. Don’t do business with this dealership. I made a big mistake trusting Mr. Cengiz and fell into Toms River VW’s trap. Good luck with your search for a vehicle.

My wife and I visited the dealer and met with Tommy M. Fantastic experience. He was extremely knowledgeable. He helped us find the car that was perfect for our family at a fair price. The first time I purchased a car without stress or frustration. The experience is how car buying should be.
Bought a new Tiguan that was missing a key fob. The key fob was ordered. It had to be programmed. I got to the dealership and my car was taken in within five minutes. It took about 20 minutes and I was out the door. It was absolutely painless. It was a pleasure dealing with the service department and the service manager, Dave in particular.
I recently bought a used car for my son's first car. I was treated fairly and respectfully and I got a great deal. My salesman Jim is pleasant, not pushy, a veteran (thank you for your service, Jim), and a good guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and this dealership. Overall great experience.

Went to Tom's River VW to purchase a VW Atlas. my son & his wife purchased 2 cars there wanted to deal local. But drove one atlas it was ok, started to drive a brand new Tiguan pulled out onto rt 37 fuel light was blinking truck had no fuel had to turn around before running out of fuel. Got into an argument with an employee there telling me to move my car out of the handicap spot so they can pull used cars there I said are you serious it's for customer parking I'm trying to buy a vehicle then he told me I couldn't park in the service parking lot. I had to park in front of the Mitsubishi dealer My wife and I left disgusted. Drove to freehold Volkswagen drove multiple vehicles and purchased a brand new 2023 Atlas Se beautiful truck My wife loves it got a great deal I'll never give toms River Volkswagen any business I won't even let them change my oil after I just read the horror stories from the service department they should be ashamed of themselves I work for dealerships a long time you can't rip people off sell them things they don't need just to make money.
Don not purchase vehicle here like to give you a run around and do nothing been buying cars from there since 2012 and just got worse and worse everytime
