The Volkswagen Tiguan S is the base trim. It sets the foundation for the other configurations with a 2.0L TSI® 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic® and Sport mode. While front-wheel drive is standard, 4MOTION® all-wheel drive with Active Control is available.
The exterior features LED Daytime Running Lights, LED taillights, and a set of black roof rails. Along the sides, there are heated side mirrors with memory settings.
Inside there are cloth seats with a quilted rhombus design. The dashboard has a 6.5-inch touchscreen display that features both a Rear-View Camera System and the Volkswagen Car-Net® App-Connect infotainment system. It makes your drive more enjoyable with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and MirrorLink®.
The next configuration is the Volkswagen Tiguan SE. It runs on the same engine and drivetrain as the base trim. It adds more style and comfort to the interior with V-Tex leatherette seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and a 10-way power driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar support.
The technology also gets an upgrade. The infotainment system now features an 8-inch touchscreen with SiriusXM® All Access, three USB charging ports, and the Fender® Premium Audio System.
You’ll also have more awareness during your drive with standard driver-assistance features like a Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, and Front Assist.
The Volkswagen Tiguan SEL continues to upgrade the infotainment system by adding a standard navigation system and replacing the instrument cluster with the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. This high-definition display can save up to four driver profiles, so you can see the information you want to see during your drive.
You can also brighten things up during your drive with a power tilt/sliding panoramic sunroof. Next to that, you’ll now have a set of stylish silver roof rails. You can also shed some light on what’s around curves with upgraded standard fog lights with a low-speed corner-illuminating feature.
The VW Tiguan SEL R-Line has a style all its own. There’s dynamic R-Line badging on the bumper and steering wheel. To add to the sporty look, this trim also features stainless-steel pedal caps.
The R-Line badging and metallic pedals are swapped out in favor of leather seats and a heated steering wheel in this next trim. The Volkswagen Tiguan SEL Premium upgrades both the style and capability. It has standard 4MOTION® all-wheel drive with Active Control.
You’ll also be able to see better with LED headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and Light Assist. On top of better visibility, you’ll be in for a safer drive too with even more driver-assistance features. Area View gives you an overhead view of your car on the infotainment screen, while Lane Assist can keep you from drifting out of the center of your lane.
SEL Premium R-Line
The top trim level is the VW Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line. It brings back the all R-Line badging and the stainless-steel pedals. To get more information on the VW Tiguan, read our car review!
